Sarteano, situated between Montepulciano and Cetona, is still a very genuine medieval town with some notable buildings and a tiny, perfectly restored Renaissance theatre, providing ample services, great restaurants and lovely people. Situated just 6 km. from the Chiusi/Chianciano exit of the A1 and 12 km. from the mainline railway station in Chiusi it is the ideal base for exploring all the splendid medieval towns of the Val d’Orcia.
